Motrex LLC Facilities Electrician in Salina, Kansas

Self-starter with excellent problem solving skills, demonstrate teamwork, lockout/tagout and follow EHS principles. Must be capable to effectively troubleshoot and repair plant and facility equipment and building infrastructure from 480V three phase down to 5 volts DC. Complete electrical installations as required with a workmanship like manner, to include running conduit and pulling wire.


  1. Create and sustain zero injury in workplace, minimize Pb blood level exposure levels.

  2. Support and follow maintenance training programs related to electrical and building control systems

  3. Must be able to troubleshoot and repair building electrical infrastructure and controls systems, which may include PLCs, VFDs, motor starters.

  4. Identify best practices that ultimately reduce equipment downtime, i.e. reduce recurring equipment or infrastructure control issues.

  5. Must be able to identify opportunities that ultimately reduce maintenance costs

  6. Seeks out unsolicited automation for improvements that contribute to the plant facilities performance.

  7. Use Work Order software system and other computer programs as required.

  8. Support new installations, improvements, and optimization projects in all areas of plant facilities.

  9. Assist in developing documentation for new and existing plant automation and control systems

  10. Assist in the support of plans to optimize and simplify existing plant automation and control systems

  11. Assist in the support of plans to modernize existing obsolete plant control systems

  12. Ability to run conduit and pull wire as required for power distribution and/or controls integration

  13. Involved in plant shutdown activities relating to skills and tasks assigned responsible for continuous improvement in all areas of the facilities department.

  14. Comply with current Quality Systems requirements.

  15. Comply with all safety and health policies and procedures.

  16. Work with other Building Service Technicians and Maintenance Mechanics.

  17. Demonstrate ability to learn basic electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

  18. Follow all procedures with regard to lock out/tag out compliance and confined space entry.

  19. Must be able to understand and communicate in simple English to receive training instruction and perform team responsibilities

  20. Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

  21. Comply with current Quality System requirements.

  22. Follow Lean Manufacturing procedures.


Education, Experience, Skills Required:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Mechanical skills required

Manufacturing/industrial maintenance experience

Knowledge of natural gas train systems would be a plus

Ability to work independently in a timely manner.

Physical Requirements:

1.Occasional heavy lifting of 50 pounds, routine lifting of items up to 50 pounds.

  1. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.

  2. Withstand occasional exposure to extreme environmental conditions such as

heat, cold, odors, and dust.

  1. Ability to climb ladders, squat, bend, twist and work in confined spaces.
