Motrex LLC Environmental Control Technician I in Salina, Kansas

Overview

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide maintenance of equipment in the water purification, wastewater treatment, and air control systems at the facility.

Responsibilities

  1. Perform general maintenance activities for the operation of system equipment for water purification, wastewater treatment, and air (ventilation and exhaust) control.

  2. Perform clerical duties to maintain inspection logs, record data, and prepare reports.

  3. Monitor and operate the air and water control systems to maintain regulatory and company required operational and emission limits.

  4. Acquire samples of water or hazardous wastes as required.

  5. Support of the EHS group in general audit inspections, reporting, and record keeping.

  6. Support of emergency response activities to accidents or incidents at the facility.

  7. General handling of waste water treatment chemicals and production wastes.

  8. Must be able to understand and communicate in simple English to receive training instruction and perform team responsibilities

  9. Comply with current Quality Systems requirements.

  10. Follow Lean Manufacturing procedures.

  11. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, Skills Required:

High School Education preferred with basic reading and writing skills.

General knowledge of maintenance activities related to water and air control equipment.

EHS Training as outlined in ENV 093-EHS Training Guide.

Previous work with hazardous wastes and chemicals desired.

Previous work experience in a wastewater treatment system desired.

Equipment Used:

Power tools, hand tools, ladders, portable pumps, meters, gauges, testing and sampling equipment, and personal protective equipment as required.

Physical Requirements:

Physically fit for continuous standing, waking, sitting, bending, twisting and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.

Physically capable of wearing PPE including gloves, respirator, safety glasses, hard hat, metatarsal guarded shoes in accordance with established policy.

Physically capable of frequently working in extreme conditions (hot, humid, cold).
