Motrex LLC DC Material Handler in Salina, Kansas


DC Material Handlers will be required to operate various types of equipment moving product from locations ranging from 16 foot racks to floor locations. Motor skills are extremely important, as storage areas can be hazardous due to the height of the racks, other equipment operating in the same areas, and other employees walking.

The starting pay rate $18.91 per hour

  • A Shift: Sun-Tues, every other Wed; 5:10am to 5:42pm; add $.30 shift premium

  • B Shift: Sun-Tues, every other Wed; 5:10pm to 5:42am; add $1.00 shift premium

  • C Shift: Thurs-Sat, every otherWed;5:25am to 6:00pm; add $.30 shift premium

  • D Shift: Thurs-Sat, every other Wed; 5:25pm to 6:00am; add $1.60 shift premium

Essential Functions:

  • All material handlers/reach truck operators must be capable of performing simple math calculations such as counting product and be capable of writing addresses for form filing.

  • Employee may berequired to move pallets of batteries from finishing lines to stretch wrappers, operate stretch wrapper securing batteries to pallet, move wrapped pallet to staging area, check pallets for accuracy and load pallets onto trucks.

  • Must be able to input and extract information from computer program.

  • Must satisfy attendance requirements as written in company policy.

  • Must comply with all safety and health policies and practices.

  • Must successfully complete the material handling training and be licensed to operate fork trucks and walkies.

  • Must be able to understand and communicate in simple English to receive training instruction and perform team responsibilities

  • Assist with maintaining traffic ways in a clean and orderly condition.

  • Comply with current Quality Systems Requirements.

  • Hazardous waste training shall be provided to the employee within six months of the date the employee filled this position and a review of this training provided every 12 months thereafter. The employee will complete a program of classroom instruction. The employee shall be supervised until training is completed. The training shall consist of a review of proper management of hazardous waste, satellite accumulation containers, how to review and prepare a hazardous waste manifest, and proper labeling requirements.

  • Perform other work as assigned by Management including 5S cleaning


Physical Requirements:

  • Occasionallylifting from grams up to 50 pounds

  • Will move or carry short distances, wood pallets weighing up to 40 pounds.

  • Will be exposed to extreme environmental conditions (hot, cold, humid)

  • Continuous standing, walking, or riding a truck for 12 hours per day.

Equipment Used:

  • Electric walkie, reach truck, forklift, clipboard, pen/pencil, computer.

Education, Experience, Skills Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
