Motrex LLC Shipping & Receiving Supervisor in Niagara Falls, New York

Overview

Stryten Energy, a new company name with a long history in the Niagara Falls, NY area, manufactures proprietary and custom injection molding products serving the industrial lead battery, automotive and consumer markets. Stryten Energy is expanding battery poly manufacturing and recycling output to help solve industry-wide supply constraints.

The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor is to provide leadership and direction to the Shipping department in areas of responsibility including inventory control, shipping, receiving, scheduling, quality, safety and environmental.

Responsibilities

  • Receives incoming freight and enters receiving information into the mainframe to maintain efficient inventory control.

  • Determines work priorities, prepares work schedules and expedites workflow. Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures.

  • Collaborates with Home Office managers and supervisors to ensure coordination of special mailings, inventory management and quality assurance.

  • Studies and standardizes procedures to assure the timely, accurate and efficient processing of all shipping and receiving functions.

  • Works with department representatives to analyze shipping needs to determine the best method of shipment (packaging and transportation).

  • Coordinates with Corporate Sales choosing brokers for export sales and loading shipments per export requirements

  • Responsible for maintaining and updating all shipping records.

  • Negotiates with shipping vendors and logistics companies to procure the best service and price possible.

  • Performs all duties of the Shipping and Receiving Clerk as needed.

  • Develops and maintains a well-trained staff.

  • Maintains discipline, resolves problems, determines performance and recommends promotions, transfers or dismissals.

  • Performs other duties as requested.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Three years supervisory experience in shipping environment.

  • Import Export Transport Requirements

  • RCRA and Transportation of hazardous waste

  • Creating Hazardous Waste Manifests

The employee must occasionally lift up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
