Motrex LLC Quality Manager in Milwaukee, Wisconsin


Stryten Energy (formerly Tulip Richardson Manufacturing), a new company name with a long history in the Milwaukee, WI area, manufactures proprietary and custom injection molding products serving the industrial lead battery, automotive and consumer markets. Stryten Energy is expanding battery poly manufacturing and recycling output to help solve industry-wide supply constraints.

Individual will support the facility’s manufacturing process by complying with ISO 9001 quality system requirements, driving customer expectations, improving Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) to support statistical data collection and analysis, and support Layered Process Audits (LPA) to drive the culture of quality and accountability into every function in the organization.


  • This position must demonstration leadership and guidance to the quality team. Including implementation and execution to corporate Stryten standards, as well as mentoring and developing each team member.

  • Develop and maintain an internal auditing schedule compliant to ISO 9001 – monitor compliance to scheduled audit timing, record non-conformances found during each audit, and drive corrective actions with the plant team to resolve and eliminate those failures.

  • Develop and maintain the control plan and process flow diagram.

  • Develop and maintain a hold tag system and that includes, a log with dispositions (quantity put on hold vs. quantity scrapped and reworked), and enough details to target high failure areas so the site team can create actions to resolve each root cause.

  • Maintain a robust calibration system that includes all required gauges.

  • Develp and maintain a thurough training program for both the quality team as well as for operators. This training will concentrate on inspections and expectations for good quality products.

  • Develop and maintain work instructions (WI’s) / Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) that assist operators, management, and quality teams to support the manufacturing processes.

  • Develop and maintain a control system for quality records, WI’s, SOP’s revisions. This system would include corporate changes that would effect this sites processes.

  • Develop and maintain a process that rewiews and implements corporate changes into the plant system (drawings, procedures, etc.).

  • Support PMO projects as Plant Quality team representative to establish KPI’s, update documentation, act as voice-of-customer, and also communicate with corporate QA as help and assistance is needed.

  • Support the product engineering and supplier quality in product improvements, PPAP MFF’s (manufacture feasibility form), and continued product compliance.

  • Develop and maintin a Layered Process Audit (LPA) plan – schedule, development of the audits, collection of findings.

  • Work with the site teams to develop the monthly QMR (Quality Mangement Report) and report out.

  • Develop a plan to use Statistical Analysis to assist in reducing variation in mold set ups.


Education, Experience, Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field (chemistry, chemical, or other engineering discipline) or years of experience in the injection molding and/or lead acid battery industry.

  • Applicable training in statistical and problem solving techniques required

  • Minimum of five year’s experience within the Quality, Engineering, and/or Statistical field

  • Project management experience preferred

  • Experience working in a production environment required

  • Must be proficient with spreadsheet, database, and statistical software (ex. MS Excel, Minitab)

  • Must be quality and detail oriented

  • Knowledgeable in ISO 9001 and APQP

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Results oriented and drive for success

  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously

  • Strong verbal/written communication skills

  • Must be able to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
