Motrex LLC Maintenance Planner in Manchester, Iowa
Overview
Coordinate, schedule, and expedite the flow of maintenance work and materials to support plant maintenance functions including; compiling reports on progress of work, planned maintenance effectiveness, costs, and production problems, as well as procurement of materials and services. Strives to minimize and/or eliminate recurring facility maintenance issues and equipment downtime, as well as drive improvement in mean time between failures.
Responsibilities
Close out completed work orders and Preventive Maintenance/Total Productive Maintenance (PM/TPM) orders into L2L (Leading to Lean), verify completion, and tracks completion data to measure results.
Obtain competitive quotes from vendors, process quotes into purchase requisitions, and present to maintenance staff for required approvals where applicable.
Analyze mean downtime between failures to establish and maintain more effective PM schedules to prevent unplanned down time occurances for all machines.
Work with Maintenance Manager to establish and maintain reasonable goals for PM/L2L WO completion time to schedule.Work with Maintenance Manager to establish and maintain actionable metrics (KPIs) around machine uptime versus standard.
Work with Maintenance Manager to establish and maintain PM checklists, procedures, and visual management tools, and other general training tools to support efficient and effective completion.
Works closely with management of different departments to establish workable schedules for PM/TPM activities and projects.
Work with the Maintenance Manager to create Preventive Maintenance Work Orders in L2L.
Generates, analyzes, and presents reports from L2L and other sources to drive improvements and visually manage results
Works with purchasing to develop cost tracking spreadsheets and present to Maintenance Manager.
Identify opportunities to reduce costs.
Participate in lean manufacturing events and assist with implementation.
Be willing to answer phone calls when not on the job.
Work additional hours as required.
Qualifications
Skills:
Knowledge of computer systems and programs such as: L2L, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, JDE.
Able to analyze data for trends and use basic problem solving techniques to improve trends (fishbone, 5 Why, etc.)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to give and share information to/with co-workers, customers, and production management in order to achieve optimum plant performance.
Ability to work on multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
Good organization/administrative and time management skills.
High energy, self-motivated, ability to be successful without direct supervision.
Capable of reading and understanding equipment manuals and blue prints.
Skilled in the operation of measurement tools including; tape measure, micrometers, snap gauges, etc.
Valid state driver’s license required.
Proficient at operating mobile equipment including forklifts and man lifts.
Experience / Education:
High School equivalent education
Minimum four years experience in manufacturing maintenance environment
