Motrex LLC Coordinator, Document/Quality Systems in Manchester, Iowa
Overview
The Quality Coordinator, Document/Quality Systems is considered a “Supervisor in Training” position who is responsible for supporting quality management systems, quality improvement projects, key customer activities, supplier improvement, and continuous improvement projects. Works cross functionally to standardize the quality management system through day-to-day quality and continuous improvements activities for the facility.
Provide key support for the quality management system, quality improvement projects, key customer activities, and supplier improvement
Provide support in the day to day quality activities for the manufacturing facility
Work cross functionally to support the standardization of the quality management system
This individual should have exposure to quality management systems (such as of ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2018) and customer-related quality expectations in a manufacturing and distribution environment. Working knowledge of battery chemistry, battery components, and electrical performance testing will also be beneficial.

Responsibilities
Support changes and improvements to quality management system, including development of new procedures and work instructions
Support document control system, including publication and distribution of new documents
Maintain quality auditing tools based on engineering specifications, engineering changes, or deviations
Support the preparation for external audits, as needed, 3rd party and customer
Support the maintenance of SPC software for monitoring, controlling, and reducing product and process variation
Coordinate and conduct internal audits for quality systems, products, and processes, follow up with findings and manage closure.
Support and coordinate issuing corrective action requests (CARs) to suppliers, including follow-up and closure
Work with other plants and corporate to improve the shared, regional quality system elements
Assist manufacturing shop-floor with corrective action resolution for internal key performance indicators, KPIs, and external customer issues, including warranty, customer complaints and ISO/IATF findings
Work with manufacturing shop-floor and other departments on problem-solving initiatives and link actions and outcomes to QMS, Control Plans, PFMEAs, plant inspection points, and customer returns
Participate in incident investigations and track corrective actions taken in Intelex.
Complete or assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning and execution.
Data collection and reporting
Monitor completion of laboratory testing requirements, control plan checks, audit findings and closure.

Annual Sampling
Training
LPA and 5S audits
Other tasks as required
Qualifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
2 year technical degree in science, engineering or quality preferred
3-5 years related experience as a quality systems coordinator or equivalent at a corporate and/or manufacturing plant level
Experience in Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) as a supplier
Training in basic quality tools
Six Sigma or Lean training, preferred
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Knowledge of problem-solving methodologies (root cause analysis, 5 why, etc.)
Must be quality and customer oriented
Knowledge quality standards (such as ISO 9001 and IATF16949)
Knowledge of APQP methodology, Control Plans, FMEAs, and PPAPs
Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies (Six-Sigma, Lean, etc.)
Familiarity with quality management Systems
Must be able to work independently and drive issues to closure
Lead teams on multiple projects
Knowledge in statistical methods used for quality improvement
Strong verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills for maintenance of documentation and data
Skills in the usage of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.), Microsoft Access databases, Microsoft SharePoint, or Quality Database Management Systems
TRAVEL, ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Travel Expectations: ≤ 10%
Occasional weekends and off shift may be required
