Motrex LLC Materials Scheduler in Fort Smith, Arkansas
The exempt Materials Scheduler is responsible for support of the purchasing, production planning, and possibly the shipping and receiving functions and services necessary to support continuous improvement in the manufacturing activities consistent with plant business goals, like cost, quality, and quantity specifications.

Provides daily oversight of departmental personnel to ensure adequate individual and team performance. Provides coaching, counseling and personal development of team members.
Coordinate activities of the buying, scheduling and distributing materials and supplies.
Ensure compliance with purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
Organize the scheduling functions using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to calculate the materials required to supply the plant.
Requisition and maintain inventories of materials, parts or supplies necessary to meet production demands.
Maintain records of goods ordered and received.
Manage inventory or cost control programs.
Help with the analysis of market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability.
Works with Materials Manager to advance enterprise-wide sourcing programs as appropriate.
Support the resolution of vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers.
Review processing schedules or production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, work procedures, or duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaborating with management, marketing, sales, production, or engineering.
Confer with establishment personnel, vendors, or customers to coordinate production or shipping activities and to resolve complaints or eliminate delays.
Regular attendance and timeliness is required in order to give sufficient support to the plant-wide team.
While performing the duties of this job the individual is occasionally required to vary their schedules times and shifts.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Bachelor’s degree preferred
Two years experience working in a purchasing and scheduling function in the manufacturing industry.
Two years experience working in a team environment – problem solving, conflict resolution, building cooperative relationships, and effective communications
Five years of experience in the purchasing and scheduling field working with vendors, customers, management, marketing, sales, production, and engineering towards continuous improvement efforts and projects at the site level.
Experience working in a union manufacturing plant is a plus
A procurement and supply chain designation like APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) is a plus.
COMPETENCIES, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
Working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word and Outlook.
Ability to communicate with multiple levels of vendors, customers, dealers, co-workers and management in order to achieve optimum plant performance
Working knowledge of procurement and supply chain best practices and operating procedures related to logistics.
Good organization/administrative and time management skills.
Ability to work on multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
High energy, self motivated, ability to be successful without direct supervision.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Background in procurement and supply chain systems or management
Knowledge of Industrial Batteries and Chargers and/or Material Handling market a plus.
Critical thinking and good troubleshooting technique.
