Motrex LLC Electrical Lab Technician in Fort Smith, Arkansas
Overview
This Electric Lab (E-Lab) Technician position is for a motivated, self-starter who will perform electrical tests for the Product Design Engineering Group. The successful candidate is responsible for interpreting test procedures, executing work instructions, communicating effectively, summarizing results, organizing records and maintaining a clean and orderly working environment. The incumbent must be knowledgeable in the operation and function of all laboratory equipment, keep up-to-date maintenance records and schedule and coordinate service and calibration services properly and timely.
Responsibilities

Setup, run and complete tests using software-controlled instrumentation.
Ability to handle multiple tasks for several customers.
Ensure test circuits are connected and running properly.
Complete warranty analysis of returned products including managing returned products, completing electrical testing and physical analysis, issuing reports and maintaining status of PIR log.
Coordinate with FTS Operations and Quality to perform evaluation of production cells.
Provide complete, accurate and timely documentation of test results.
Convey all information to customers and ensure satisfaction.
Practice safety and good housekeeping in laboratory, be familiar with job related MSDS.
Help out as needed or as directed by Management.
Communicate effectively with co-workers, engineering and management.
Follow 5-S principles and practices.
Ability to learn and demonstrate knowledge of batteries and Stryten Energy products.
Operate forklift truck and crane on a regular basis.
Qualifications

Education, Experience, Certifications:
Two year technical degree in electrical/chemical technology with 0-2 years experience or 3-4 years equivalent combination of work experience with electrical and/or chemical test equipment.
Forklift Training Certification a plus
Competencies, Skills, Knowledge:
Working knowledge of standard shop tools.
Good understanding of basic electricity/electronics.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure and technical manuals.
Strong focus and exposure to safety protocols in the laboratory.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Good observation, record-keeping and documentation skills.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
High degree of organization, self-motivation and accountability.
Analytical ability to prioritize work and move from task to task.
Must be detail oriented.
Basic computer skills including working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.

While performing the duties of this job, individual is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
Individual is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel or crouch.
Ability to regularly lift a minimum 50 lbs. on a daily basis and 51 to 150 lbs. with assistance of equipment on a daily to weekly basis.
Regular use of safety glasses and shoes. Vision requirements: close vision.
