Motrex LLC Supervisor, Shipping and Yard in Forest City, Missouri


  • Coordinate the availability of materials and flow of supplies in all production and finishing areas to ensure the achievement of production and shipping goals.

  • Dispatch two company truck drivers; including, but not limited to, maintaining driver records and compliance paperwork.

  • Maintain proper inventory and production scheduling to ensure on time deliveries of requested lead shipments.

  • Prepare various reports to promote open communication between plant personnel.

  • Control the scale house throughout the day to keep a steady flow of shipping and receiving materials needed for day to day operations.

  • Prepare bill of ladings for shipments of all materials leaving the facility.

  • Sign for and receive into our system all loads that arrive at the facility (including loads of hazardous waste).

  • Inspect and approve loads leaving the facility to ensure they meet the quality expectations of the receiver.

  • Be able to work throughout and maintain our transportation management system to keep the truck schedule up to date and as accurate as possible.

  • Assist in keeping a proper inventory of all production materials.

  • Assist subordinates in the accomplishment of their business objectives and in their efforts to develop themselves technically and professionally.

  • Direct supervision of salaried and hourly employees in the Shipping and Yard Department.

  • Ensure safe operation of the slag processing equipment as well as all loading/unloading operations.

  • Training and scheduling of yard employees.

  • Communicate with Breaker, Refining, Maintenance, QA/lab, and other departments to insure continual process.

  • Follow all Health and Safety procedures/practices as they apply to the area of work and the facility.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

  • Follow ALL established standard operating procedures.

  • Follow procedures to operate all equipment

  • Participate in training and development programs.

  • Perform whatever other responsibilities and duties that are assigned by management.

  • Hazwoper training will be given due to the handling of hazardous waste.

  • Responsible for compliance with DOT regulations and requirements.


  • Production background, preferably in a process environment.

  • Ability to supervise and motivate hourly employees.

  • Ability to organize and plan workflow.

  • Good written and oral communication skills.

  • Training and/or experience in manufacturing, production, maintenance, and personnel.

  • Good written and oral communication skills.

  • Able to administer and follow all safety rules and regulations.

  • Working knowledge of computers/skills.

  • Knowledge of basic DOT regulations

  • Knowledge of DOT paperwork for Hazmat and Haz-waste loads

Certification in the use of the following mobile equipment (training will be provided if necessary):

  • Crane

  • Forklift

  • Loader

  • Dump Truck

  • Tractor

  • Excavator

  • Bobcat (Skid Loader)


  • Prefer 5-10 years of experience in smelting operations.

  • 8-10 years of experience in a battery recycling plant, with graduated levels of business experience.

  • Undergraduate degree in Business or Production Management.

  • Knowledge of the proper packaging of batteries with exemption per 49 CFR PART 173.159€
