Motrex LLC Continuous Improvement Lead in Columbus, Indiana
Overview
Stryten Energy (formerly Tulip Richardson Manufacturingand Richardson Molding), a new company name with a long history in the Columbus, IN area, manufactures proprietary and custom injection molding products serving the industrial lead battery, automotive and consumer markets. Stryten Energy is expanding battery poly manufacturing and recycling output to help solve industry-wide supply constraints.
The Continuous Improvement Lead will facilitate and implement Stryten Manufacturing’s continuous improvement framework driving a culture of improving key performance indicators such as OEE, product quality, waste reduction, safety and operating costs. The Continuous Improvement Lead will collaborate with site leaders and all employees to cultivate lean principles that deliver quality products through standard work, process control, process improvement, and team-based problem solving.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with site leadership to identify and prioritize continuous improvement projects related to the improvement of key performance indicators.
Advocate team problem-solving to promote safe, efficient and effective work practices.
Administer site continuous improvement activities including maintaining site-level continuous improvement metrics, project tracking and savings, lean six sigma training and certification, lean audits and countermeasures.
Develop and facilitate the use of standard work as a primary lever to promote employee engagement, continuous learning and team-based problem solving.
Serve as site advocate and primary contact to Stryten CI Center of Excellence for improving continuous improvement strategies, lessons learned and best practices.
Leverage 5S and quality audits to improve site continuous improvement performance and maturity.
Share site-level best practices with divisional sites.
Present site-level continuous improvement performance updates to site leadership and corporate center of excellence.
Actively lead, facilitate and coach continuous improvement projects.
Plan, lead, coach kaizen events for value stream mapping, 5S, process flow improvement, changeover reduction, mistake proofing, standard work, visual workplace, root cause analysis, and product quality improvement.
Maintain continuous improvement training, skills matrix and continuous improvement communication plan.
Provide CI onboarding to new or promoted employees.
Other responsibilities as assigned by the leadership team as necessary to achieve plant goals.
Qualifications
S. Industrial Engineering or similar degree preferred
2-4 years’ experience in fast paced, discrete manufacturing environment. Process automation a plus.
Experience with Toyota Lean Principles, Toyota Kata, and Lean Six Sigma plant floor implementation a plus.
COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledgeable in APQP methodology; Control Plans, FMEAs, MSAs, and PPAPs a plus.
Curious, enthusiastic and willing to challenge orthodoxies of current practices.
