Motrex LLC Application Support Specialist in Charlottesville, Virginia

Overview

The Application Support Specialist is responsible for assisting customers in troubleshooting, repairing, and general questions from the field via email and phone support. The Application Support Specialist will repair both Warranty and Non-Warranty repairs that are returned to the Aker Wade Charlottesville facility.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phone support calls

  • Charger related issues

  • Data related issues

  • Applications related issues

  • During and after hours calls

  • Log all calls into database (Salesforce.com) as cases

  • Issue RMA Numbers for returns and follow up

  • Repair returned components returned under warranty

  • Repair returned HF chargers returned under warranty (SEU)

  • Repair/Refurb parts returned out of warranty and create

  • Opportunities and Quotes

  • Assist with Motive Power Manager install/licensing/operation

  • Create Service and Tech Bulletins for release to Field

  • Travel Domestically for troubleshooting, repairs, installation commissioning, etc.

  • Other duties as necessary

Qualifications

Educations, Experience, Certifications:

  • ASEE/ASEET degree preferred or formal military training in electronics

  • Proficiency with Google Suite, MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Experience in PCB and systems level testing, troubleshooting and analysis

  • Be able to understand technical drawings, datasheets, and written work instructions

Competencies, Skills, Knowledge:

  • Isolate PCB issues to component level through analysis of digital and analog circuits using standard test equipment (oscilloscope, network analyzer, LCR meter, digital multi-meter)

  • Read electronic schematics for products with purpose of gaining understanding of circuit operation and identifying product failures

  • Identify, analyze, and repair electronic product failures

  • Fabricate parts, cables, and test fixtures using electronic, hand, power, and pneumatic tools

  • Receive, analyze and process defective products returned from field

  • Use problem solving and root cause analysis techniques to troubleshoot electronics-based products

  • Excellent soldering and assembly skills

TRAVEL, ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Travel Expectations: ≤ 30%
