Motrex LLC Technical Writer - Contractor in Alpharetta, Georgia

Overview

The Maintenance Technical Writer will be responsible for creating manuals for the Essential Power Division’s products. The individual will work with a broader team of engineers, service, program managers, subject matter experts, etc. to create documents such as Product Manuals, Installations and Operations Manuals, Service and Maintenance Manuals, Job Hazards Analysis, etc. for battery energy storage systems (BESS) and related products. This documentation will include descriptions of the basic product operating principles, the necessary tools, spare parts, consumable supplies, and procedures required to complete the equipment maintenance interventions. The Maintenance Technical Writer will utilize TPM methodologies, techniques, and tools to develop the required documentation for internal use, customers, maintenance technicians and operators, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and organize technical information from drawings and manuals to develop standard documentation including product manuals, operating manuals, service and maintenance manuals, etc.

  • Documents need to be written to explain technical information in a way that is understandable to a non-technical audience

  • Documents need to communicate complex concepts concisely with a high technical accuracy

  • As needed, documents should include bill of materials for spare parts and consumables.

  • Coordinate efforts with Engineers, Maintenance Technicians, supervisors, subject matter experts, and operators to gather data for documentation and in identifying activities improvement opportunities.

  • Proactively informs manager on assignments status, issues or concerns, including issues of scope, and schedule.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, Certifications:

  • 4 year degree preferred

  • Demonstrated talent for translating technical verbal descriptions into coherent written work documents and instructions

  • Experience in documentation of technical products; experience in energy storage would be beneficial

COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE:

  • Highly skilled in Technical documentation and Drawings interpretation

  • Experience writing standard work

  • Strong verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience, working knowledge of products needed regulatory compliance would be beneficial

  • Must be self-motivated and ambitious, ability to organize and prioritize daily work with the ability to successfully perform multiple tasks with strict deadlines.

  • Possess the ability to analyze plant environmental and exposure risks; prioritize and develop improvement plans; secure capital funding

  • Must be able to perform all essential and marginal functions of the job.

Work Environment:

  • Normal office and test lab environment is typical.

Travel, other requirements:

  • Limited domestic travel within the US possible
