Motrex LLC Engineer, Supplier Quality in Alpharetta, Georgia
Overview
To develop suppliers performance of quality, cost, and delivery thus building supplier partnership in line with Stryten requirements
Responsibilities
Work with suppliers to develop and continuously improve their capabilities to reliably deliver high quality products on-time
Develop long-term supplier relationships and generate and implement cost reduction ideas
Write reports, maintain timelines and log sheets for frequent updates, multi-tasking
Interface between suppliers and Stryten quality, procurement, and engineering teams to ensure alignment on design for manufacturability, design for testing
Strategically lead supplier performance improvement projects in an effort to increase the supplier capability of consistently meeting Stryten requirements. Projects may include: process analysis, value stream mapping, process capability, throughput analysis, 6-Sigma, 5S, and Kaizen events
Screening, evaluation, and implementation of supplier Value Add/Value Engineering proposals
Drive and/or co-define documentation best practices with Engineering
Contribute as core team member as required on transition projectsDrive “Zero Defects” mentality within the supply base
Support all of Americas business groups equally
Qualifications
Technical Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college. (e.g., electrical, mechanical, chemical engineering)
Technical knowledge of manufacturing processes preferred
4+ years of experience working in supply chain (supplier quality engineer or commodity manager preferred)
Able to interpret/read drawings, prints, and specifications
Demonstrated experience as “change agent” internally within company and externally with suppliers with positive results
Experience and understanding of manufacturing standards (e.g. ISO9001, ISO14001, IATF16949, VDA 6.3)
Experience with AIAG systems
Experience with six sigma and lean manufacturing methodologies
Experience with process and product audits (internal and supplier)
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross functional and international teams
Detail oriented and strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Competencies, Skills, Knowledge:
High energy level and ability to interface at all levels across the business
Highest ethical standards and practices
Excel, Minitab, PowerPoint, Calibration software
Travel Requirements:
- This position requires 40% travel
