Motrex LLC Director, Supply Chain in Alpharetta, Georgia


The Americas Supply and Demand Planning Leader contributes to the success of the company by directing activities of the Supply Chain Planning organization including teams executing demand planning, supply planning, and integrated business planning functions. The Director of Supply Chain Planning coordinates the development, deployment and execution of strategic plan including high level demand and supply plans along with operating cash forecast. As a company leader, this position drives a culture of continuous improvement in all areas to ensure customer satisfaction, productivity, and employee development.


  • Owner of Sales and Operations Planning process

  • Key participant in development of yearly strategic plan aligning customer service expectations with operational supply plan including capacity utilization analysis

  • Serve as primary point of contact for “what if” analysis for new business opportunities including spot buys and run-rate

  • Interact with customers to drive strategic Supply Chain initiatives

  • Provide recommendations for CAPEX projects to expand capacity when gaps are identified

  • Responsible for delivery of inventory objectives through direct management of team of supply planners/demand planners

  • Lead inventory target setting for Raw/WIP through Finished goods to balance service level and cash utilization

  • Continuous Process Improvement

  • Extensive JDA/JDE and Business Process Knowledge to Support Teams

  • Own development and execution of Integrated business planning software strategy (Blue Yonder/JDA)

  • Extensive Sales Planning & Prioritization Process Knowledge to execute Allocation


  • Proven leader with demonstrated ability to utilize business knowledge and mathematical skills to creatively evaluate situations and adopt a "big picture" approach when implementing solutions

  • 5-10 years’ experience in Supply Planning, Forecasting, Inventory management, warehousing, distribution and/or operations leadership

  • Understand the linkages between distribution requirements planning and other supply chain processes such as demand planning, supply planning, inventory planning, production scheduling, MRP and transportation management

  • Familiar with transaction systems and decision-support tools, database creation and manipulation, spreadsheets, word processing, graphics

  • Advanced planning software experience, JDA & SQL skills preferred

  • Strong Interpersonal skills; Verbal and written communications skills

Education, Experience, Certification

  • Bachelor degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Management or related discipline preferred.

  • MBA/Masters in Information Technology or Logistics preferred

  • 5-10 years planning, operations, supply chain or related experience.

  • Preferred experience in Scheduling/Purchasing Role

  • CPIM (APICS) certification a plus.

  • MBA/Masters in Information Technology or Logistics preferred

Competencies, Skills, Knowledge

  • Expert knowledge of supply chain planning, processes and systems.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. JDA and JD Edwards experience is beneficial.

  • Strong organization, time-management and communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong analytical skills. Ability to see the bigger picture while applying analytical solutions to complex issues.

  • Demonstrates high integrity in the performance of job responsibilities.


  • This position requires less than 25% travel.
