Motrex LLC Director, Benefits and Compensation in Alpharetta, Georgia
This position is responsible for the design, implementation, communication, and administration of all compensation, retirement, wellness and benefits plans for active employees. This position ensures that our benefits programs are competitive and support our overall corporate strategic direction. Responsible for supervision of the compensation, benefits and retirement teams.
Research, design, develop and implement benefit and wellness programs for active employees and retirees, ensuring, alignment with organizational objectives and balancing market conditions, internal equity and long-term vision.
Ensure that all benefit programs are competitive and cost effective by monitoring and analyzing program expenses, plan design effectiveness and identifying opportunities for expense reduction through various funding, design or administrative techniques.
Source, select, manage and monitor levels of service provided by outside consultants, actuaries, and insurance carriers, and ensures services are appropriate and acceptable to employees and the company while maintaining cost effectiveness.
Champion, develop and implement communication initiatives to ensure employee understanding of benefit programs.Responsible for design and oversight of all compensation and benefit program administrative functions.
Responsible for the design and implementation of short term incentive programs including manufacturing incentive programs.
Research and recommend compensation and benefit strategy and policy to SVP and CHRO.
Develop and maintain an audit plan to ensure that internal and external compliance requirements are met, including knowledge of relevant and related government rules and regulations in such areas as ERISA, DOL, COBRA, ACA, IRS, HIPAA, and all other applicable regulatory guidelines and entities.
Keep apprised of federal, state and local compensation laws and regulations to ensure company compliance.Analyze existing benefit related policies and prevailing practices among similar organizations to recommend plan changes.
Foster an open and consultative relationship with other HR departments to ensure an effective and streamlined experience in support of the business. These key relationships include leadership peers in Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Plant HR, HRIS and Payroll.
Manage vendor relationships to ensure that services and deliverables meet business needs.Participate in implementation and management of all compensation and benefit plans.
Design communication of compensation and benefit programs in conjunction with assistance from Internal Communications and/or outside vendors.
Monitor the effectiveness of existing benefit and compensation policies, guidelines and procedures recommending plan revision as well as new plans that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives; coordinates implementation and provides guidance to corporate staff.
Strong technical expertise, including financial, analytical and problem solving capability to identify issues and formulate solutions.
Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to build and motivate high performing teams.
Prepare and monitor department budget.
Direct preparation and distribution of written and verbal information to inform employees of benefits programs including health & welfare benefit plans, 401 K, life and disability, and special employer sponsored plans.
Responsible for all preparation, distribution and implementation of compensation programs including all merit programs and short term incentives.
Provide advice on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation, and job evaluation, including the design of creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs.
Develop techniques for compiling, preparing and presenting data.
Bachelor's degree or MBA in Business Administration, Accounting/Finance or HR preferred
Certified Benefits Professional or Professional in HR designation preferred
Related Work Experience:
- Required: 10+ years experience in a compensation and benefits leadership position including supervision of professional staff. Strong background in retirement programs and being able to analyze, model and document benefit programs.
Specific Skills & Knowledge:
- Required: Significant Excel spreadsheet software experience; Must have good communication skills to work with employees at all levels of the organization including internal and external customers; Must possess excellent written communication skills; Must have great attention to detail and be highly organized; Benefits expertise within a union environment; Experience initiating, negotiating contracts and agreements with external vendors. Proven track record with setting compensation strategy; process oriented. Knowledge of government regulations as they apply to compensation base and incentive compensation programs, company policies, and operations.
